Madrid shared a clip from their training session on Tuesday showing Alvaro Carreras dribbling past Vinicius Junior before launching a shot at the goal. Alexander-Arnold tracked back quickly to stick out a leg and deflect the ball away from danger right on the goal line. In the very next move, the ex-Liverpool star ran up the other end and exchanged a quick one-two with a team-mate before finding the back of the net with a neat dinked finish. Alexander-Arnold celebrated by saying "football champagne" in Spanish into one of the cameras recording the session.

Despite featuring in Madrid's starting lineup regularly, Alexander-Arnold missed out on an England call-up for the September international break. Thomas Tuchel decided not to include the ex-Liverpool star in his 24-man squad for back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
